Andrew A. Brooks, M.D., F.A.C.S.
President and CEO


Dr. Brooks founded Cardo Medical in May 2007. As a practicing orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brooks began Cardo with a simple vision: Create cutting edge orthopedic and spinal implant devices that enable surgeons to address their patients' unmet clinical needs.

Prior to founding Cardo Medical, Dr. Brooks built a successful track record in healthcare entrepreneurship. Most recently, Dr. Brooks founded Specialty Surgical Centers, a group of multi-specialty surgical centers based in Southern California. Specialty Surgical became the largest privately held surgical center company in California before being acquired by Symbion, Inc in August 2005 (NASDAQ:SMBI). Specialty Surgical Center has over 150 partner-physicians and continues to grow and operate successfully. Dr. Brooks received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from University of Southern California. Dr. Brooks is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization Los Angeles Chapter.

Michael Kvitnitsky
Chief Operating Officer


Michael Kvitnitsky joined Cardo Medical in May 2007 following a successful career in orthopedic device development. Previously. Mr. Kvitnitsky served as President and CEO of Accin Corporation, an orthopedic product innovation incubator which he founded in 2005. Prior to Accin Mr. Kvitnitsky began his career with Osteonics, over a 16 year period, he went on to hold various posts within Osteonics and then Howmedica and subsequently Stryker Medical. Between 1999 and 2004 he served as director of Stryker International. Under his guidance at Stryker International, sales in Japan outperformed all internal company benchmarks, the performance of his division was mentioned as a stand out in Strykers annual shareholders report. In 2004 his team was awarded Strykers "Development team of the Year" award. He has received numerous professional commendations throughout his distinguished career. Mr. Kvitnitsky received an MS with Honors in mechanical engineering from Kharkov University, Ukraine before coming to the U.S. as a political refugee in 1989.

Derrick Romine
Chief Financial Officer


Mr. Romine has served as Chief Financial Officer for Cardo Medical since January of 2008. Mr. Romine is responsible for all financial and accounting functions. Prior to joining Cardo, Mr. Romine worked for 12 years in all aspects of corporate finance and strategy including corporate restructuring duties at KPMG, corporate finance and strategy at Doane Pet food and most recently in corporate finance and development at Specialty Surgical Centers where he oversaw all aspects of the surgical center business including staff management, inventory management, financial operations, and interaction with key physicians. Mr. Romine has an MBA with Distinction in Corporate Finance from Webster University in St. Louis Missouri.
