Align 360 Unicompartmental Knee System

The Cardo unicompartmental knee system offers a minimally invasive solution for patients with isolated arthritis in either the medial or lateral compartments

INSTRUMENTATION PHILOSOPHY

The Cardo unicompartmental knee system was developed from an instrument driven approach using design input from world renowned and highly experienced UKA surgeons.

Our patented and proprietary innovations have resulted in Cardo introducing the first unicompartmental knee system designed to allow the surgeon to match both flexion and extension gaps. Our instrumentation allows the cutting blocks to be placed onto the spacer blocks for cuts in both flexion and extension. The system is designed to be used in a pin-less fashion and has unique capabilities for mechanical navigation which are designed to enhance mechanical axis determination resulting in improved alignment. The bone preparation can be done with either a tibial first bone preparation or a femur first approach.

COMPONENT DESIGN

The femoral component is designed to accurately reproduce the dimensions and curvature of the femoral condyle. The implant is designed for high performance and deep flexion capabilities up to 150 degrees. The mediolateral curvature of the component provides excellent bone coverage, and in the event of less than perfect alignment the design will minimize stress concentration. The tibial component is a metal tibial tray with unique fixation pegs and keel design. The device uses a high quality ethylene oxide sterilized ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) for the tibial bearing component and gamma irradiated cast cobalt-chrome alloy for the tibial tray and femoral components.

The system includes six femoral component sizes and six tibial component sizes.
