DuPont Tyvek 800 is a liquid-tight protective garment that combines comfort and durability with protection against low-concentration, water-based inorganic chemicals and particles down to one micron in size.

Tyvek 800 stands up to even pressurized jets of liquids and offers suitability for a variety of industrial cleaning, food manufacturing, agriculture, petrochemical, sewer, environmental remediation, and maintenance applications.

We designed Tyvek 800 for optimum comfort. The enhanced garment delivers an ergonomic fit that adapts to the wearer’s movements. The breathability of Tyvek 800 makes it especially welcome in hot, humid environments.

Tyvek 800 J coveralls benefit from the use of a specific ‘impervious technology’ to achieve an effective barrier against many low-concentrated water-based inorganic chemicals (even under pressure) and small-sized hazardous particulates, as well as oil repellency.

An ergonomic design that adapts to wearer’s movements

As with all DuPont garments, achieving an ergonomic fit consistent with the shape and movements of the user was at the core of the development of Tyvek 800. Hood, sleeve, waist, and leg design was optimized to deliver a close, protective fit when moving, yet remains uninhibited due to the flexibility and lightness of the fabric itself.

Design features of the garment include:

  • A chin flap for increased liquid protection and a closer fit when wearing full-face masks
  • Thumb loops to prevent the sleeves from riding up
  • Elastic wrists, ankles, and waist
  • Distinct orange taping of the garment seams providing color contrast
Developed to the highest standards, Tyvek 800J coveralls are soft, comfortable, and lightweight without compromising their level of durability. They are now available with serged and over-taped seams that provide the performance of Type 3/4/5/6 garments, which have been tested to standards against pressurized liquids, heavy liquid aerosols, and airborne solid particles.
The coveralls provide an effective barrier against many water-based inorganic chemicals in low concentration and particles (down to 1.0 micron in size), as well as oil repellency. Tyvek 800J coveralls are suitable for applications such as industrial cleaning, chemical packaging and redistribution, waste treatment and disposal, and environmental remediation.
Coveralls provide protection against infective agents (EN 14126) including resistance to penetration by blood and body fluids using synthetic blood (ISO 16603) and resistance to penetration by blood-borne pathogens using Phi-X174 bacteriophage (ISO 16604) as well as EN 1073-2 (protection against radioactive contamination).
Fabric and seams offer chemical permeation barrier to low concentration water-based inorganic chemicals. Serged and over-taped seams provide extra protection and strength. Self-adhesive chin flap allows for a tight seal of the suit to the mask. Coveralls also feature elastic face, wrists, and ankles, as well as glued-in waist elastic. Elastic thumb loops keep sleeves in place.
